Developing Staff to Achieve the Best Outcomes for Learners
Date: Wednesday, 30 September 2015
Venue: Holiday Inn, Central Birmingham
On 30th September 2015, AELPdefinition will be hosting a Conference in Birmingham to showcase the support and resources that have been made available through the two high profile staff support programmes, ASSP and TSSP.
AELP and its strategic partners were commissioned by the Education & Training Foundation to manage the staff support programmes (ASSP and TSSP), designed to increase the quality and professional capacity of individual staff delivering Apprenticeships and Traineeships.
In the first phase of both programmes provider led projects were commissioned to develop a range of resources focusing on the key strands of the programmes. The second phase of the programmes sought to disseminate the resources and to provide further support to the sector through a variety of activities including workshops, webinars, pod casts, a consultancy service and the establishment of communities of practice. Funding was also made available to extend and enhance some of the phase 1 projects, such as resources to support staff working with vulnerable learners.
The event builds on the success of the individual ASSP and TSSP conferences, providing an opportunity to understand more about the wider policy context in which Apprenticeship and Traineeship staff are working. Delegates will also be able to benefit from the lessons learnt from those who engaged with the consultancy service and communities of practice.
There will also be an opportunity to learn from project leads and to review the new resources, including an Apprenticeship e-guide that will be launched during the day.
The resources are now available on the two dedicated websites http://www.traineeship-staff-support.co.uk/ andhttp://www.apprenticeship-staff-support.co.uk/.
